Lance: A struggling freelance writer, who still lives with his parents. Despite being unlucky in nearly every aspect in life, he is determined to become a famous writer and discover true-love. Quiet and unassuming, he often ends up the fall-guy for his two companions. He is a deep-thinker, torn between his own idealism and the harsh realities of the world.

Mango: A dark, sarcastic monkey and Lance’s most constant companion. While he has several redeeming qualities, he remains deeply self-obsessed. He has a pessimistic view of the world, and humanity in particular, yet he remains loyally by Lance’s side throughout their adventures.

Snug: A positive, happy-go-lucky, rather simple pig. Snug may not be the brightest, but he sees the best in everything. He is the heart of the group, and is always ready to empathise, even if he doesn't know what that word means. He is also prone to dressing up in women's clothing.

Kay: A grade 3 teacher, and friend of Lance from their University days. She enjoys teaching, but does not know if she wants to do it for the rest of her life. She is organised to the point of being neurotic, but is still unsure what she wants out of life. She would be an ideal love-interest for Lance, if she did not already have a serious boyfriend.
